"It’s super hot in Japan as usual this time of year _32C-38C). We went fishing on a tributary of Lake Ginzan in Niigata Prefecture which has beautiful water and is the largest rice production area in Japan. We are around 750m high from sea level which is not that high but definitely makes the temperature feel different. The bottom of the mountain is 34C, near the river is 26C and inside of the tunnels only 16C. It’s great to go to new places, no expectations, no pressure, just fishing and learning. We quickly discovered many small fish _10-18cm) were there but no signs of larger size fish _30cm+). I was searching for the larger size fish using the new Primal Zone 3wt 10ft 6 with a Jig H&C size 10 from the Manic Fly Collection which is good way to search deeper places and faster runs and I found few good size fish around 25cm-31cm! This is the perfect rod for Japanese rivers and small size Char."
